Hand Made Greenhouse Birthday Card with Bright Flowers and a Bicycle!

This is a greenhouse built with a little of this and a little of that!

I started with a card and envelope form the Abstract Beauty Suite which resembles the sky, and I built a greenhouse on it using the Garden Greenhouse Dies.  The colors of the Abstract Beauty DSP were my inspiration and what I used to die cut my flora and fauna.  They are Magenta Madness, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Just Jade and, I used the coordinating Adhesive-Backed Hexagons for the flower centers.

Basic Black was my color choice for the greenhouse fame, giving it the look of cast iron, and I used carefully placed glue dots to adhere it to the card. Yes, stretching was involved, and the Take Your Pick tool was quite helpful!

You will notice the perfect yellow bike in front of the greenhouse, this die is from the Windmill Fields Die Set and to be honest, the reason this was the first die set in my shopping cart! Now that I’ve had a chance to create with the windmills, I’m very happy they are part of the set too!

Because I created this card especially for a friend and since neither set I was working with had a “Happy Birthday” stamp, I searched among my other stamp sets.  The Artfully Layered cling stamp set is where I found the sentiment for this card, “happiest birthday wishes.” I really like the font in this set, it is playful, yet sincere! And, with “thank you,” “hey there,” and “sending all the hugs” too, this is one set I’ll keep on my desk for easy access!

Adding a little something, like a stamped image or die cut pieces, to the inside of the card and the outside of the envelope is a nice way to make the card an experience for the recipient!

What can you make by combining a little of this and a little of that in your craft room?

Susan’s Creation Tip:

Pulling the colors from your favorite Designer Series Paper (DSP) is a great way to bring a different set of dies to life, and you know the colors will work well together.  It’s a fun way to see your dies in a whole new light!
